The influence of the analytical chemistrycourse on the formation of agrarian university graduates' general cultureand professional competencies is considered in the article. The problem of training qualified personnel for agricultural products production and processing is revealed. The new methodological approach to the subject teaching including general chemistry training, scientific research, the choice of analysis directions and methods in accordance with the university specialization is suggested.
