The paper considers the regional economic security monitoring system as a tool for analytical support of management decisions, which allows timely recording of changes in key parameters of territorial development. The importance of using a set of indicators and benchmarks is emphasized, which make it possible to monitor the dynamics of socio-economic processes and identify areas of potential stress before deviations enter a critical phase. It is noted that methodological approaches to assessing the state of regional systems should be correlated with their structural specifics and the level of technological equipment, since the characteristics of production factors, the institutional environment and the sectoral profile of the economies of the constituent entities of Russia differ significantly. The prospects of expanding monitoring capabilities through the use of digital platform solutions and automated analytical modules that provide accelerated data processing and improved accuracy of predictive estimates are considered. It is shown that the development of monitoring tools enhances the potential of public policy aimed at maintaining the sustainability of regional development and reducing the vulnerability of economic systems to external and internal influences. Modern monitoring systems provide an opportunity not only to record the deterioration of economic indicators, but also to predict their dynamics, which plays a key role in proactive management of potential threats. The success of tracking is largely determined by the accuracy of the information received and the approaches to its analysis and interpretation. The integration of diverse information flows, such as statistics, opinion polls, expert opinions, and geoinformatics information, is of key importance. Future directions for improving monitoring tools include expanding the areas of use, deeper analysis of the data collected, and improved approaches to predicting trends. The integration of monitoring systems with decision analysis tools plays a key role, enabling automation of planning procedures and management actions. As a result of improved monitoring tools, the effectiveness of the state's regional policy increases and the vulnerability of economies to external and internal threats decreases.
