Genetic and genotypic variation of two natural populations of rare relic species of the clone generative plant of devil's-club Oplopanax elatus (Nakai) Nakai (Araliaceae) is researched by means of the allozyme analysis method. It is determined by the research that the genetic variation indices in average (P 95 = 34.6%, A = 1.58, Н о = 0.171, Н е = 0.155) are higher than known for the rare plants. Level and character of genetic diversity distribution of O. elatus reflect the interaction of some processes, but the key factor is the species reproduction system contribution.
