The detailed study results of soil cover in the southern part of the gas pipeline route in the Central Yakut plain that covers the basin of the Vilyui river middle reach are given in the article. It is shown that the soil cover structure and soil properties on the researched plot are typical for the middle taiga subzone as opposed to the route northern part soils where cryozems dominate.
