MICROBBIOLOGICAL DEGRADATION OF POLYHYDROXYALKANOATES IN MODEL SOIL ENVIRONMENTS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The degradation of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) with different chemical composition in model soil environments is studied in the article. It is shown that less crystalline co-polymer samples are destroyed faster than homopolymer ones. It is determined that the specific microbial complex is formed on PHA-surfaces and initial PHA-degrading microorganisms are identified such as: bacteria Bacillus, Mycobacterium, Streptomyces, Pseudomonas and micromycetes Penicillium, Acremonium and Trichoderma.

Keywords:
polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polymers degradation, PHA-degrading microorganisms
