The literary source review on the problem of the material resource use effectiveness, material cost economy is presented in the article. The author conducted the analysis of the material cost share dynamics in the total production costs in 2005-2012 on the enterprises of Kaliningrad and Brest regions. The research object clustering according to temporary segments relative to the trend direction of the material cost share change is conducted.
