The following key peculiarities of students’ value scale self-determination in technical higher educational institution such as pragmatization of youth valuable consciousness, etatization, higher education content standardization, are singled out as a result of the conducted research. It is established by the research that student’s personality value scale self-determination is a complex phenomenon which is based on the perception of the student’s personality as the individual who has worked out his own position in the cultural field.
